Smita Srivastava, is a freelance artist. She has traveled the world and has a global appreciation of art. Smita’s creativity is expressed in figurative forms using vibrant hues. Her development as an artist has benefited from her long and fruitful experience as a teacher and administrator which has provided her usful insights into human emotions. She was born in India in 1958.

  • M.Sc., Zoology, University of Calcutta, India
  • B.Ed., Annamalai University, India
  • Qualified Teacher Status, Department for Education, United Kingdom
  • Triveni Kala Sangam, N.Delhi – 6 months training under guidance of renowned Indian artist, Mr.Rameshwar Broota.
  • Printmaking workshop, organized jointly by the Institute of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka and Bengal Foundation, held at the Institute of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka.
  • Current Position:

    Principal, The Banyan Tree School, Lodhi Road, New Delhi – July 2009 till Present.

    Previous Positions:

    Head Teacher, Vice Principal and teacher of biology in various educational institutions in India, Iran, United Kingdom, Thailand and Bangladesh.
